Objective: The Tourism Development Council (TDC) operates under the auspices of the Rockport-Fulton Area Chamber of Commerce and is under contract with the three local government entities (City of Rockport, Town of Fulton and Aransas County) to promote the Rockport-Fulton area as a tourist destination. Accomplishments: *Distributes over 100,000 brochures throughout the state and abroad *Takes Trade Show Booth on the road to Houston, Austin, San Antonio and Rio Grande Valley *In peak months, internet web site generates over 25,000 user sessions *Participates in Great Texas Birding Classic *Works with media throughout the year for excellent coverage *Meets monthly with local attractions to encourage networking and collaboration *Hosts annual Spring Fling matching outdoor writers and manufacturers with our local fishing guides; generates over $200,000 in ad value through articles in magazines and newspapers *Runs Visitor Center where over 30,000 visitors pass through each year *Fulfills brochure requests for over 100,000 bulk mail and regular inquiries each year *Created Historical Tour Tapes for walkers and drivers *Works with group tours and motor coaches *Attends all major state functions each year to represent our community in the tourism industry *Conducts monthly market research asking visitors who inquired if they came, if they liked it and when will they return *Works closely with Regional Tourism Partners on joint marketing programs If you are interested and want to become involved, e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
