Aransas County Photo Contest 
FREE Entries Accepted Beginning Sept. 1, 2005

Visitors to Aransas County can make their visit pay by entering the Take Your Best Shot Photo Contest. The overall winner will be awarded a $1,000.00 cash prize for the best photo taken in Aransas County! Three additional prizes of $500 will be awarded to winners in these subject categories: Attractions (Fulton Mansion, Maritime Museum, Rockport Center for the Arts, Rockport Beach Park, etc.) , Birds/Nature and Fishing. Photos depicting people enjoying themselves in Aransas County will have the best chance of winning.
 
To be eligible for this contest, you must NOT be a resident of, or property owner in, Aransas County. Entries must be submitted by, and prizes awarded to, persons 18 years of age or older (parents can submit entries on behalf of their minor children).
 
All submissions must include the entrant’s name, address, phone number and location where the photo was taken. Any additional information about the shot is optional, but encouraged. 

ALL photos become the property of the Rockport-Fulton Area Chamber of Commerce and will not be returned.
 
The Rockport-Fulton Area Chamber of Commerce will have the right to use ALL entries in future advertisements, with appropriate photo credit given to the photographer.
 
The winner will be determined by a vote by the Rockport-Fulton Area Tourism Development Council. Deadline for receiving entries is September 30, 2006.
 
The prize will be awarded mid-November 2006. The winner will be notified 30 days in advance of the presentation to be given an opportunity to attend an award ceremony. If the winner cannot attend, the check will be mailed to them.

Todd Gustafson " I'm glad that you thought so much of my photos. We sure loved being in Rockport to take them! We were in San Antonio for my oldest daughter's band tour in the spring. After her tour we all headed for the coast photographing wildflowers along the way. When we got to the coast we had a great time out on the Gulf looking for Whooping Cranes and playing on the beaches in Aransas County. People Category Winner - $500 Prize - Carolyn Whiteside, San Marcos, TX

Carolyn Whiteside Our family enjoys the Coastal Bend area and visit there to play on the beach and fish.  My husband is an avid fisherman and I go out with him to photograph the many birds and scenes in and around the bay.  Our son, daughter and their families often accompany us to the area and our four grandsons (ages 2-5) love to play at the Rockport beach building sandcastles, splashing in the water and playing on the playground.   They love for their Papa to help them fish for piggy perch around the docks and he hopes they will love fishing as much as he does.  I enjoy watching them and helping them discover the fun that can be had at the beach.  The usual trip also includes doing some searching the local shops for unique gift items and souvenirs.   The photo of our oldest grandson, Max, was the winner in the "people" category.  I knew all the time he had a "winning" smile and now that has been confirmed.   Thank you for selecting my photo, Carolyn Whiteside

Rick Comstock Thanks for choosing my photograph. I’m glad you like it as much as I do. We go to Rockport about twice a month to enjoy the beach and all the great places to eat. There are also so many photo opportunities there it always makes for an enjoyable trip. My wife and I belong to the local Harley club and we like to make the ride to Rockport as often as possible. I also have a passion for nature photography and spend a lot of time at Aransas Wildlife Refuge. We always find something interesting to photograph there.
